Insert line break in custom column

I just wasted two hours trying to do this. Tried using <br/> and chr(10), but could get neither to work. Appreciate any tips.

EDIT: using the narrative view worked

Did you change the type to HTML?

This is all I've got to choose from:

So it's time for you to give us all the details of what you are asking and not just few words without context ...
Version used, what are you doing, in which way etc.

Thanks for your response, Gianni. I'd like to have several lines per row. so I can write up the output in complete sentences:
"product id" sold "number" of copies.
"number" of those were "color".
That sort of thing.
I intended to do this with a line break, but if it's possible otherwise, that is wonderful too.
I think the build is 11.1.1.9.5.

I still don't see the problem:
In the column I simply set the format to HTML and there it is...
(And this is from a 11.1.1.9.0 (Build 150415.1247 64-bit) SampleApp506)
Have maybe a look at a narrative view, it's "easier" to manage formatted text style output ...

Isn't this the issue here: Adventures in OBIEE: Missing "Treat Text As" options in OBIEE 11g ?

Why a catalog hack to set a privilege which is accessible through Administration -> Manage Privileges?! O_o
@Michael Verzijl : not an attack on your answer but a genuinely baffled question.

Hi
Was more the reference to why he was not seeing the HTML option. Solution
in blog itself is of course wrong.
No offense taken here. Should have been a bit more clear.

Gotcha Funny how a blog asking for bitcoins can be wrong

Yes, I don't have the option of "treat text as html" but will try the narrative view tomorrow. This looks promising. I do not have administrator privileges so cannot give myself the html option by the way.
