Above is the custom workbook template that my team has been using for a long time. We copy the workbook template canvas that we need and paste it into whatever workbook we've been using. We were excited to see the new feature where can now save our own templates through the new shared layout feature and easily upload to any workbook we're on without having to copy and paste. However, this feature lacks the ability to save a lot of features that are key to our template such as our logo or the green borders around KPIs.

This is what it looks like when saved as a shared layout:

This is what the template looks like after being selected from the shared layout. it doesn't save the templates features in any meaningful way, so for now the Shared Templates feature cannot be used for easy workbook creation.

  • Hello,

We are actively working on the image support with Layout templates - allow user to persist canvas layout with image visualizations, image backgrounds on viz / canvas. Its planned for 1H 2025.

PS: With OAC Jan25, viz border stylings (shadow, color) will be persisted with canvas layouts.

    Thanks.

    Hi Caroline,

How did you get the top bar where it says "2024 report template" from your screenshot, to be a different color then the standard 'grey' color from below?

To complete this point, we were recently faced with changing our logo and therefore the constraint of having to go back to each workbook to replace the old logo with the new logo. Any technical solution that alleviates this constraint would be welcome.

    Hi @Oracle Analytics Wizard-Oracle

Go to Present Mode, then under the workbook tab select custom under background. From there, you can fill in your desired hex code!

Note that in edit mode you won't see your custom header color, however, your when you click the play button you can preview it how your end users will see it.
