In FDI Implementation, it is particularly hard for the business users to navigate to the std analytics under shared folders and sub folders. This is one of the issues in terms of user experience needs to be improved.

So, it will be better for the oracle to include a standard quick navigation page, as a landing page with respect to all the workbooks. So that it will be easy for a partner to redirect business users to this default landing navigation page from Oracle fusion menu (after enabling SSO).

As of now, with the customer needs we are managing to create a custom page of quick navigation which is likely getting difficult to match the customer's expectation of creating a first impression.

Also, the links in the navigation page should get restricted based upon the fusion roles that is been assigned to the respective FDI workbook. Security also needs to be in place on top of it.

This is one of the real time issues which we are facing and i need community votes inorder for oracle to consider this very crucial feature in the upcoming release.

Brgds,

Hari

    Hi Hari,

So are you referring to consumers/authors having a direct URL to the Shared Folders in the OAC Catalog?

Not a kind of direct url page to shared folders, instead if we have a quick navigation generic landing page so that user can navigate into fdi standard content through the icon hyperlink placed in the landing page, instead of them going to shared folders and access in through sub folders again.

Btw, as a partner we can create a custom landing page and keep icons as a custom solution but if it comes out of the std feature then it will be useful.

So for end users (as of now), they can customize their OAC home page by clicking on the Page Menu icon near the top-right and then click on Customize Home Page.

It should not be user specific as business users will not spend time to customize the page and also with this customize page I don’t think it will be possible to keep all the std fdi workbooks.

It has to be generic navigation page which should be commonly applicable to all users.

We're considering something like this as an option for the factory FDI experience. This example would be for a Finance Executive and you see the factory content broken out into functional "swimlanes" - like Accounting or Payables. This page could be customizable (or not) and would provide a starting point for users. Thoughts?

Each swimlane shows the top items and could be expanded to show all the Workbooks in that category.

    Hi David,

This looks fine and also as per user assigned roles in fusion even though all the contents interms of finance, procurement and Hcm workbooks are kept in the same page it will get restricted right as the different user stream navigation?

  • Visibility to swimlanes, contents of swimlanes, and even the whole page would be based on roles / ACLs.

ok, then this should be able to satisfy as of for initial landing page and we shall make it further more attractive with some colouring options to give an user’s first view of better experience.

  • What are you thinking on coloring, might I ask?

Instead of plain white background, we can change the background theme suitable to customer to highlight those workbook thumbnails even better.
