Disable auto run in OTBI analysis

Hi Team,
OTBI analysis report running automatically without giving parameters and getting results which creates confusion to business/user.
So could you please try to help, is there any option to disable auto run which means don't run reports automatically on initial page entry.
Thanks,
Uday

Hi Uday,
Can you please provide some more information like is it a Dashboard or individual OTBI Analysis?
Are you editing the report and it is getting executed?

Hi,
If it is you're editing the report and it is started executing:
Then you have to change the following settings from your My Account:
Select 'Start on Criteria tab when editing Analysis' from the drop down under 'Analysis Editor' and then press the 'OK' button as highlighted in Yellow.
Hope this help.

Hi Uday,
You have to use 'Prompt before Opening' here. PFB the steps that you need to follow to enable it for your Dashboard.
To set "Prompt before Opening":
- Edit the dashboard.
- Click the "Prompts before Opening" control in the lower right of the dashboard page editor
- Save the dashboard before leaving the dashboard editor or your selection will not be saved.
Hope this help.

hi - another way is just to set one of the prompt values to a value that doesn't exist.
eg say one of your prompts is for person number, then in the analysis, you probably have a filter "Person number is prompted" - change this to say "Person number = xxx", then when the dashboard opens - it will open with no data as "xxx" is not a valid person number, then the user can enter the required prompt and refresh the results.0 -
Hi, Another solution is to make at least 1 prompt "Required" but with default no value. Apply button will be greyed out. The user must select a value to apply the prompt to fetch results.

@Nathan CCC does that meet the requirement though? A mandatory prompt doesn't stop the query from running , it just means if there user is going to enter any prompts that one is mandatory?
eg prompt is mandatory but all results are initially returned

gclampitt Yes you are correct. You still need the filter in the analysis to to have a default to return no rows if prompt before opening is False.
