Repository upload/download

Hi,
Does anyone know if there's another way to upload/download the repository without needing to log into the server where OBI is installed? I don't have access to the server and always need to wait for the server admin to do this. Also, our policy is not to modify the repository online. Thanks!

Short answer: No.
Longer answer: Well if you do not have any access to the server either personally / physically nor through any programmatic ways like kicking off a script which tunnels to your server and does things for you there....then no, there isn't.

First of all: what version of OBIEE are you talking about? 10g, 11g (which one? .5, .6, .7, .9), 12c?
Reading your question in a different way I wouldn't say "No" directly ...
I guess you actually ask if there is a way without having connect to the server remotely, like via SSH if linux or Remote Desktop if Windows etc. right?
If that's your question of course you can deploy a RPD without log into the server where OBIEE is installed.
But without the version it makes no sense to start covering all the possible ways ...

We are using 12c. The instructions say to log into the server where OBIEE is installed to upload/download the repository. But since I don't have access to the server, I was wondering if there's another way (instead of waiting for the server admin).

Again: "What" other way? Smoke signals? Carrier pigeons? Subspace communication over the Midas Array into the Delta Quadrant?
Even remote command lines etc need *some* kind of access.

You don't the account to connect to the server (SSH or remote desktop) that we got it.
But do you have an admin account in OBIEE ?
By default it's like the weblogic account for example.
Because, as Christian said, don't expect a magical way with no user or password (be realist: it's an enterprise tool, not a notepad file !)

In case anyone is interested. You CAN upload/download the RPD using the client workstation where the Admin Tool is installed. See this post here for more info:

Why do you think I asked you if you had an OBIEE admin account?
I could have told you that 3 weeks ago if you answered as it's there since the first 12.2.1.0.0 release more than 1 year ago...
