I inherited an older OAS 2023 server, which version to upgrade to?

Good morning,

I need to upgrade an OAS 2023 BI server I inherited because support and patching ended this month ( I just applied the latest January sb patch for windows that was available )… Do you recommend I upgrade to 2024 24.7.6.0 and apply the latest patch or go to the new 2025 24.8.2.0 ? Since 2025 was just released then I take it there are no patches to apply ? I don't see any documentation for 2025 in the OAS patching doc ID 2832967.2. I'm guessing if we install 2025 then there will be a CPU/stack bundle patch to apply in 3 months roughly when the next quarterly patches get sent out?

We are on windows server if that helps with the recommendation.

@User_A81NX - The recommended version is always the latest release, which is OAS 2025.

• Stack Bundle Patch will be released every 3 months and should be applied in the next quarter.

• OAS 2025 is available for Windows Server as well.

Maybe worth knowing that OAS 2025 has been released today. While we can hope it has been well tested, I would still wait at least some weeks before upgrading an environment to it (I would like the Oracle support time for OAS versions to be extended by 1-2 months after the release of a new version, just to have a safe time still supported to plan an upgrade and not rush on a version on day 1 of its release).
