OAS BIP Joining 'DV data' source you can't do it? is this coming soon?

Hi Apologies, this is raised as a question, but, it might equally be a candidate for a new idea? If a product expert on here can rule it in or out.

I suspect this may already have been considered.

In BIP OAS we have the option to pull in a data source of 'DV data' into the BIP data model, (hexagonal blue icon from + icon on diagram page) It looks to be standalone source because we can't join it with any other data sources…. say from a subject area using the Oracle BI OBIEE data source. The create link is just not available even if data types on keys between the two sources is the same. I guess this is because the DV data is not SQL and it can't be joined?

There is possibly a way round this limitation using logical SQL but will this ever be available directly from the DV data source rather than having to pull code from elsewhere? OAC/OAS?
