How does FDI handles the HCM organization hierarchy restructure

There could be scenario in HCM Fusion where the organization hierarchy might be restructured. I am sure that FDI data will also be refreshed according to the new organization hierarchy structure. But want to understand if the history of organization hierarchy will be maintained or it will be only the latest organization structure maintained in FDI.
