Selective Permissions for Author Role in Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI)
Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI) - when a user is assigned the Author role, they receive default permissions to create workbooks, datasets, dataflows, and connections—in that sequence.
We have received a customer request for more granular control over these permissions. Specifically, they would like Authors to have access to create only workbooks and datasets, but not dataflows or connections.
As of now, there is no provision to selectively restrict these capabilities within the Author role. A configurable or customizable "Selective Author Role" would be highly beneficial. This would allow administrators to tailor access based on organizational responsibilities and maintain stricter control over dataflows and connection management—typically reserved for more advanced users or data engineers.
