Disable subject area search from DV Home page - OAS 2025

Hi,

Version: Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) 2025 with July patch

Issue: I'm attempting to disable the search functionality for subject areas on the Data Visualization (DV) home page. I navigated to:

Console > Search Index > Data Model

However, the "Homepage Ask" option that should be available (screenshot is from OAC youtube video) in this section is not appearing in my environment.

Below is a screenshot from vanilla install. (even with rpd content loaded I do not get the Homepage Ask option). Is it not available for OAS 2025 or something else?

OAC March 2025 had the following update.

Search indexing is now updated to include Oracle Analytics AI Assistant and Homepage Ask
Make Data Available for Oracle Analytics AI Assistant and Home Page Ask

OAS 2025 does not include that feature, so it will not have the "Homepage Ask' checkbox.

In OAS 2025, you can disable data model indexing by Subject Area or entirely (uncheck the box).
There are no fine-grain permissions for 'search' in the home page. Classic has some fine-grain privileges for classic home.

Hi,

What release of OAC is your screenshot from? OAS 2025 is mostly based on OAC Jan 2025. If your screenshot comes from a later release, then you should wait OAS 2026 for the feature to be available. If the screenshot is from an older release of OAC, then it's possible this feature isn't available for OAS. Did you check the release notes of OAS 2025 to see if that feature is supposed to be there?

The screenshot is from Feb 21, 2025 according to the youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3vXpTDxnCU) date.
