Semantic Model - provide detailed logs of executed action in SM (deploy/export/import)

When executing actions in Semantic Modeler - just to name some:
- deploying model
- exporting model
- importing model
then no detail information are provided about the execution of those actions to Semantic Modeler UI for developer.
In "View Log" there is just message: "Logs not present." - really not very helpful. Detailed execution information are not available neither in Jobs section in DV UI.
And if there is any failure in those actions, developer does not have any chance to figure out, what went wrong.
The only possibility (but not for Developer, working in web UI, but for Admin of the server, where OAS is running) is to go and dig into log file on operating system of OAS server - WLS managed server bi_server1 log files (<<OAS domain home>>/servers/bi_server1/logs/bi_server1-diagnostic.log) and try to find relevant entries for SM action for potential troubleshooting.
So we request to have detail logs for action executed in SM available for developers DV UI.

Thanks for sharing this. Can you let us know which version of OAS you’re on? Is it OAS 2025?

There were some known issues in earlier versions with how Semantic Modeler shows logs for actions like deploy/import/export. We have fixed those issues, though I’ll need to check if those updates made it to OAS 2025.

We have enhancements planned to improve how logs are surfaced to developers when exceptions occur.

Hi @Pravin Janardanam-Oracle , great to hear from you after a while. Yes, we are on OAS 2025 with latest OAS Stack Patch Bundle 8.2.0.0.250707 applied. Looking forward for improvements in this area. Will those get into OAS 2026 or will you make them available even in OAS 2025 (in next Stack Patch Bundle) ?
