Hi everyone,

I’m using Oracle Analytics Cloud Desktop on macOS, and I’ve noticed that the Copy/Paste option is not available (both right-click and keyboard shortcuts). I’ve tried restarting the app and my Mac, but the issue persists.

Is this a known limitation of the OAC Desktop client on Mac?
Are there any workarounds to enable copy/paste within the canvas or data model editor?

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

    Hi Daniel,

Thank you for providing the clarification to the issue that I requested.

Your statements are clear and I have validated this on SEPTEMBER 2025 Oracle Analytics Desktop on MacOS 15.7.2

There is no need to log a service request, per my previous post that OAD is not covered under support policy.

I will report the issue as a defect.

As a workaround, use Oracle Analytics Cloud or Oracle Analytics Server for production work.

I do not have macOS so no experience with Copy/Paste option. But I do refer the following doc and looking at the known issues, did not find anything related to your issue.

    Please refer

I would suggest logging Oracle SR and get your issue addressed.

  • Daniel,

Welcome to the Oracle Analytics Community and for your question.

    About Oracle Analytics Desktop

Oracle Analytics Desktop previews the self-service visualization capabilities of Oracle Analytics Cloud and Oracle Analytics Server. Oracle Analytics Desktop is a free download provided under the Oracle Technology Network license. Oracle Analytics Desktop isn't intended for production use, and isn't covered by Oracle's support policy.

Do you have the latest OA Desktop?

Can you provide more detail or screenshots about how / what you are are trying to copy/paste?

In latter updates, you can select or multi-select data fields in table/pivot table, then right-click > edit > copy data
This is available on Windows or MacOS.

Here is a screenshot with from my MacOS. cmd-c will not work.

So just to confirm, Copy/Paste work from the Right Click but not from Keyboard shortcuts.

When I attempt to copy/paste using the right-click menu in the New Calculation form, the option is not available.

    Issue Clarification (Platform Behavior Difference)

We have tested this in two environments:

    1. OAC Desktop on Windows – Works correctly

    • Right-click Copy/Paste works properly inside the New Calculation form.
    • Keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V) also work without any problem.

    2. OAC Desktop on macOS – Does NOT work

    • Right-click does not show Copy or Paste in the New Calculation form.
    • Keyboard shortcuts (Cmd+C / Cmd+V) also do not work.
    • This means no method of Copy/Paste works at all on macOS within this form.

I am not sure if this behaviour on OAC Desktop for macOS is a bug specific to macOS, A known platform limitation, or Something that should behave the same as Windows but currently does not.

This inconsistency between Windows and Mac strongly suggests a defect.

It should behave on macOS the same way as Windows unless it is documented as a known issue. Please log a SR with Oracle Support. Thanks
