Enable Independent Forecasting for Multiple Items in a Single Table

Currently, when used in a table the FORECAST function aggregates all items when more than one appears in the table. We need the ability to generate independent forecasts for each item simultaneously within the same table.
The current functionality is preventing us from producing item-level forecasts in a scalable way and significantly limits the usefulness of forecasting in operational reporting.
Similar discussion here, I submitted an SR for this part of the problem and was told this is functioning as designed :
