Preview Subject Area Data in Semantic Model before Deploying
Hi.
Subject Areas can take a while to fully publish & when they do, & we find a mistake I have to go back to re-edit the Semantic Model & apply the fix. It can take 10-15 mins to wait for the Subject Area to come available OR for changes in the Subject Area to become visible. Other times its testing features in the Semantic Model (e.g. hierarchies, data fragmentation, changing a join etc.) & seeing how it looks. This could be a competency issue on my end, but we are looking for a way to preview data in a subect area (at the logical & presentation layer) before deploying. It's a hassle as sometimes we have to wait 10-15 mins before the changes are applied & we can go in & test the results, only to find out I misspelled something or that data didn't come through because of a incorrectly specified join.
I'm not asking for the full data to be previewed but an option to preview the first N rows OR a filter on specific fields.
Regards.
