EPM Cloud data(RealTime) and ADW data validation through OAC

Hi Everyone

We were able to create a report in OAC using EPM Cloud connectivity. Is there a way to leverage this workbook to validate the data that is loaded into ADW?

Our end goal is to validate EPM data against ADW. We have a subject area built on top of ADW that is currently being used, and we want to ensure that the data retrieved through this subject area matches the data in EPM Cloud.

If there are any alternative approaches or existing threads related to this requirement, we would appreciate your guidance.

Thank you, We also considered exploring the Create Subject Area option. However, we are not sure whether a separate subject area is required for each cube or if a single subject area would be sufficient. Currently, we are working on shared filters, and if that approach does not work, we will proceed with this option.

Thank you for the detailed steps. We are trying to achieve the exact approach you described above, but without any manual intervention. To support this, we would need either a dashboard or a program to reconcile the data.

@CPavan ,  you can leverage an OAC workbook connected to EPM Cloud to validate data loaded into ADW, but you need to structure it carefully. Essentially, you’re performing a data reconciliation between the source (EPM Cloud) and the target (ADW) via your FDI pipelines.

High level steps could be

* The workbook connected to Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud is your source data snapshot.

* Ensure that the filters, POV (Period/Year/Scenario), and hierarchies match exactly how your FDI pipeline extracts data into ADW.

* You can export the workbook results as CSV if needed for comparison.

* Use the ADW subject area to retrieve the same slice of data that was loaded by FDI.

* Ideally, create an OAC workbook on this subject area with identical layout, columns, and filters as the EPM workbook.

* Add calculated fields to Compute differences between ADW Value and EPM Value, Compute percentage variance and Flag discrepancies.

to use shared values for prompt you need to use parameters in the filter.

There is no way to join EPM data to ADW data in the workbook.

Thinking outside of the box…Not sure if creating a Subject Area on the EPM connection would get you closer.  You can create Datasets from the Subject Areas and maybe then join them for combined analysis
