Our requirement is to enable dimension attribute value specific grand totals in Pivot table.

For example:

When we enable grand total on pivot table visualization it shows grand totals for all values of columns.

We wanted to enable totals only for specific values.

Is there a way to achieve this in DV?

You have a few options here. First option is to add your pivot table with the total. Then in selection steps pane add a set on the dim column to keep only and select the specific members. Second option is to use Filter or Case, which might be a better option to use

Hi @User_A63N1 I don't think it is currently possible to do this in DV. I have tried looking at options for conditional formatting for this in case it is definable by a rule however I can only see a way to do this for the main data columns not totals.

@Brendan T there is no selection steps pane for DV that I am aware of. Is there something I am missing?

  • Selection steps have been added to DV in the last year (can't remember which OAC release it was).

@User_A63N1 , the automated grand totals (or sub-totals) in tables and pivots have no options, they automatically aggregate all the measures at the level they are enabled.

For what you ask, you should consider a calculation that let you pick the columns you want, and then you add it to the visualization and try to make it look like a grand total by changing the style of that column.

Of course the selection steps mentioned above could also be an option, but it depends fully on your exact case.
