How to change default INNER JOIN to LEFT JOIN in the Physical layer? (Beginner question)

Hello everyone,

I am a very beginner in Oracle Analytics and OBIEE. I am trying to join two tables in the Physical layer (under the "Physical" tab). By default, the join is set as INNER JOIN, and I cannot change it. It seems like the option to change it is locked or not available.

I would like to change it to a LEFT JOIN. How can I do that, could i do it on the physical layer or is it something only allowed on BMM?

Also, The SS is in portuguese the red rectangle shows where the type inner is set, that's where im trying to change that to left.

In the "old" RPD, the joins are split in two parts. In the physical layer you define the rule of how 2 tables can be connected, but it's a physical representation of data, it still doesn't have a "business" meaning.

The fact your join should be a left outer join instead of an inner join, is a business definition, the therefore you define that in the BMM layer.

In the model admin tool it works like that because the same 2 tables could be used once as an inner join, with a business meaning, and in a different context you want an outer join on the same tables, same condition, because you are looking at a different meaning of your data.

That's why in the physical you only think about the expression of how 2 objects are connected, while in the BMM you don't define the join expression but define the type of join.
