Hello All,

We have set up ibot in obiee 10g and we are unable to deliver it to email. The job manager shows completed status for the ibot (Exit code 1). What could be the issue. Any help will be highly appreciated.

When i configured the email for the administrator user it is delivering the email. When i select any other user for delivery it is not delivering the email. I have configured SA System subject area and i can see the profile configured for those users.

thanks

Stv

    Tried to deliver via conditional request(SA_System) . But still it is delivering in dashboard but not on email and completed status in job manager.

    Have you checked the log files? Do they say anything specific?

    Are you sure the delivery profiles are correctly populated through SA System?

    Have you run singular tests with specific users making use of SA System to verify that sending emails is possible?

    If the OBI logs show the email as sent - have you checked on your email server?

    There's much investigation to be done. We can't give you a "press this button" answer...

    Dear Christian,

    Thank you so much for your reply.

    Have you checked the log files? Do they say anything specific?

    Which log i should check? Scheduler logs or Presentation services log? Those two i checked and couldnt find any issues.

    Are you sure the delivery profiles are correctly populated through SA System?

    I have logged in with two user and i could see the system email option populated with email ID in my profie

    Have you run singular tests with specific users making use of SA System to verify that sending emails is possible?

    Tried to add users already available in BI . But alert is populated in dashboard but not in mail

    Similary i have used a conditional request made from SA system table and choose logon as the field in recepient tab.

    Still the same. Alert is populated in dashboard but no email.

    If the OBI logs show the email as sent - have you checked on your email server?

    Exit code is 0 when i only use email and when i have dashboard alert it is 1.

    But when i created an ibot and send to my own delivery profile it is delivering the email.

    There's much investigation to be done. We can't give you a "press this button" answer...

    @Christian Berg

    I created a new user and created his delivery profile manually . Now it sent an email. So it seems like something wrong with SA System ..

    Well you select "Logon" in the one screenshot above. Is that really something which your mail server can translate into a valid recipient internally? I mean "email server internally". Can you send an email to a "Logon"?

    @Christian Berg,

    Logon is a column in SA System subject area. Read some blogs to use the SA System for non obi users as well.

    So you read some blogs. Good for you. Did you try to understand what's written there? Or jsut go ahead and do "stuff"?

    I ask you the question again: What is coming back in that "Logon" column....is that a valid recipient for your email server?

    Sorry for not being any more courteous here but saying out loud "I just read it on a blog" is basically the worst thing you could do. THINKING can never be replaced by a checklist or a blog post. The post is written for a certain environment and scenario which YOU are not sitting front of. You're sitting in front of YOURS.

    Hello @Christian Berg,

    I am sorry for the line above .. Actually i have done SA System earlier also. but few years ago. I do not know what is missing now. Logon is the user id in SA system and email is the column with email. So we create a conditional request with only those two columns and select logon as the column containing recepients.

    Basically i am trying to send ibots to non obiee users in 10g. in 11g we can directly add email address in recepient tab. But in 10g i couldnt find any option such that.

    Do you have any other approach to implement this ie : Sending alerts to non obiee user in obiee 10g ibots(i know it is possible from publisher, But we need it from obiee).

    Then why are you using "Logon" if the EMAIL is EMAIL?

    Not sure if this gets lost in translation but for a third time: you must choose a RECIPIENT which is interpretable by your email server!

    ..  I have seen it in clearpeaks blog and followed that article to configure this. Even i tried to use email in the field instead of logon. Still same results. Delivering to dashboard , but not to email. Can you suggest something for this. Now i need to create users in BI for each recepient which is very difficult as there could be many more ibots needs to be developed for different groups n users,
