We're experiencing issues accessing the Oracle Analytics Cloud instance using a custom application role, for example, R_1 associated with the GRP_1 group. We performed the following steps:
- created a group on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
- created an application role in the OAC console
- associated the group with the application role.
However, when we add a user to the group, access to the OAC instance doesn't work due to a lack of permissions. If we also assign the standard BIConsumer role to the user, access works correctly.
The point we're unclear about is this:
Another application role (for example, R_2 associated with the GRP_2 group), created using exactly the same procedure, works correctly (users in the corresponding group can access without needing the BIConsumer role). We would therefore like to understand:
- why this custom role does not allow access
- what differences there might be compared to the other role that works correctly
