Purpose of the report parameter _linkToReport

Question

In a report you can choose to share a report link. This will bring up a link which you can copy. This provides a link with a parameter at the end _linkToReport=true.

I would like understand what this parameter does? Changing it to false, I do not see any changes and thus would like to drop it in particular as it sometimes breaks links when I use it with xmlpserver.

Comments would be highly appreciated as I could not find any documentation on this parameter.

I can't find any Oracle documentation describing the '_linkToReport' URL parameter.

Based on testing, if changing it to false or removing it does not affect report behaviour, it is likely an internal navigation flag added by the "Share Report Link" feature rather than a parameter that controls report execution.

If your xmlpserver URLs work correctly without it, I would expect it to be safe to omit. However, I am not aware of any Oracle documentation that explicitly states its purpose or guarantees that it can be removed.

It would be interesting to know whether anyone else from the community, Oracle Product Management, or Oracle Support has documentation or additional information on this parameter.
