OBIEE12c install in same server as database

Hi,
Does anyone recommend installing OBIEE12c in the same server as the database, for production? I know it works since the VirtualBox comes in one piece. Any insights to the pros and cons of installing everything into one server?

It depends on different things but If you talk about production environment a good start point is a reference document to see capacity planning, to do a implementation small, medium and big size in OBIEE 11G/12C.
The document is:
OBIEE 11g | 12c: Architectural Deployment Capacity Planning Guide (Doc ID 1323646.1)
An also check this best practice guide for the Infrastructure:
OBIEE 12c: Best Practices Guide for Infrastructure Tuning Oracle® Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition 12c (12.2.1) (Doc ID 2106183.1)

There are a load of variables to take into account in making that decision ranging from resilience, failover, hardware capacity, usage capacity to mention but a few.
For some guidance, take a look at Oracle's capacity planning guidelines - https://blogs.oracle.com/proactivesupportEPM/entry/obiee_capacity_planning
