Oracle Analytic Server 2025 Installation - Configuration Fails

Question

Hi, I am installing Oracle Analytic Server 8.2 on linux. On running the config.sh file in bi/bin/, I am getting the error below.

Already verified below and working fine:

Able to connect to DB using connection string on OAS server

Able to connect to schemas created as part of RCU

No Port Conflict (9502/9503/9506)

In your screenshot in the initial post it shows the service_name connection format with /ofsaapdb

Try SID syntax instead?

:ofsaapdb

Environment (Linux 8.1) is certified, and I am using the format hostname:port:servicename for database and it moves ahead to the next installation step.

Your are working on an environment that should be certified (based on what I remember of the OAS 8.2 certification).

The log shows an Oracle Database error a few times: ORA-12504, TNS:listener was not given the SID in CONNECT_DATA

Can you double check the database connection parameters you entered in the configuration steps? Because it isn't liking what you entered apparently…

What did you enter for your database? Are you using the service name? Did you enter it with a "/"? I usually use this format: hostname:port:servicename
