Historical Reporting in OAC

Question

We are planning to archive the Contract and Lease data currently sourced from the External Source as Contract and Lease accounting functions are being migrated to Oracle's CLM and Lease Accounting modules. At this stage, only active and partially closed records are being converted into Oracle and the remaining historical data from External Source will need to be archived/retained separately.

Currently, Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) is used to report on Lease and Contract data originating from External Source. Our current plan is to archive/retain this data in the OAC data warehouse (ADW Database called DaaS) for Historical Reporting in OAC with the archived data. However, we would like to explore whether there are alternative archival approaches or solutions that may be better suited to this requirement.

Hi,

You can keep data in an Autonomous Database and connect it from OAC but you have not shared size of this data to be archived and will it be used in OAC frequently or not. thanks

I'm not sure how this is an OAC topic…

OAC doesn't store any data by itself (I like to believe your data isn't a file you loaded once in OAC as a dataset: that's the only data stored by OAC).

OAC can connect to a quite large number of sources, therefore it can give access to data stored in many places. If it is in a database, it can use it. If it is somewhere else, depends what the "somewhere else" is, but there are chances it will be able to access it.

You should consider what usage you have, check the list of supported sources, and that will gives you what is possible on the OAC side. From there check what your source application allows and see where the 2 can connect together.
