BI Publisher web services in Fusion Applications currently accept only username/password authentication, and KB33531 confirms that JWT is not supported in any current BI release. At the same time, Oracle is retiring basic authentication on 31st of March 2027, which means integrations that depend on BIP reports will have no supported authentication method after that date.
We and our clients rely on BIP web services for integrations, data extraction and reporting, both through OIC and custom tools. These integrations require stored user passwords, which expire, cause outages and are regularly flagged in security audits. We propose that BIP web services accept JWT and OAuth 2.0 bearer tokens issued by OCI IAM / IDCS, consistent with other Fusion REST APIs, while keeping existing report and data security unchanged. This should be available before basic authentication is retired, so that BIP-based integrations keep working after March 2027 and customers can use a single, password-free authentication model across all Fusion APIs.
