Description
Our organization uses Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI) Configurable Account Analysis (CAA) as a foundational data source for financial reporting, reconciliation, and analytics. We extensively leverage the following tables within our reporting architecture:
DW_FA_GL_ACCOUNT_ANALYSIS_CFDW_FA_Y_CAA_APP_CONFIGURABLE_ACCOUNT_ANALYSIS
As part of our solution architecture, data is extracted from Fusion SaaS and replicated into a PaaS-based extension layer, where it is enriched with additional business logic, mappings, calculations, and custom attributes before being exposed through Custom Subject Areas and downstream reporting solutions.
These tables serve as the primary source for multiple custom subject areas and downstream reporting solutions. As data volumes continue to grow, efficient and reliable incremental processing becomes increasingly critical to maintaining acceptable load and reconciliation windows.
A critical requirement for this architecture is the ability to accurately identify records that have changed in the source Fusion ERP application. However, the above CAA tables do not currently expose any source-level audit attributes that indicate when the underlying Fusion ERP business transaction was last modified.
As confirmed by Oracle Support:
- No source update timestamp is currently available in the FDI data model for these subject areas.
- There is no Oracle-supported approach for identifying true source business changes represented in these tables.
As a result:
- Reliable incremental processing cannot be implemented.
- Downstream SaaS-to-PaaS synchronization processes must rely on expensive full-data comparisons.
- Reconciliation and audit activities require significant manual investigation.
- There is no trusted mechanism to determine which source transactions changed between processing cycles.
- It is difficult to distinguish between a true Fusion ERP transaction update and an FDI refresh or data movement activity.
Enhancement Request
Please expose source-derived audit attributes within the following tables:
DW_FA_GL_ACCOUNT_ANALYSIS_CFDW_FA_Y_CAA_APP_CONFIGURABLE_ACCOUNT_ANALYSIS
Examples of useful attributes include:
SOURCE_LAST_UPDATE_DATESOURCE_LAST_UPDATED_BYSOURCE_CREATION_DATEOBJECT_VERSION_NUMBER
Key Requirement
The requested attributes must reflect true Fusion ERP business transaction changes and not FDI processing activity.
The values should represent the actual source transaction update information maintained in Fusion ERP and should not be based on:
- FDI refresh timestamps
- ADW load timestamps
- Data pipeline execution timestamps
- Replication timestamps
- Semantic model refresh timestamps
While the attributes listed above are examples, we are not prescriptive about the specific implementation. Any Oracle-recommended source-derived audit attribute, change-tracking field, or equivalent mechanism that reliably identifies true Fusion ERP transaction changes would satisfy this requirement. The primary need is a trusted source-system change indicator that can be used for incremental processing, reconciliation, auditability, and SaaS-to-PaaS synchronization.
Business Benefits
Providing source audit attributes would enable:
- Accurate incremental processing and change detection.
- Reliable SaaS-to-PaaS data synchronization.
- More efficient data enrichment and custom reporting processes.
- Faster reconciliation and root-cause analysis.
- Improved auditability and traceability of accounting changes.
- Reduced processing overhead by eliminating unnecessary full dataset comparisons.
This enhancement would significantly improve the usability of Configurable Account Analysis for customers building custom reporting, reconciliation, and integration solutions on top of FDI.
