Hi all
I work in UK healthcare across 30 hospitals nationwide, and we're currently reviewing our Oracle estate and roadmap. Part of that is deciding whether to make a case for investing further in Oracle Analytics Cloud for workforce reporting, or whether OTBI and our existing tools are enough for now. Our HR data sits in Fusion HCM, and I'd love to hear from others in healthcare (NHS or independent sector) who've been through a similar decision.
Healthcare workforce data has its own challenges: 24/7 rostering, a big mix of clinical and non-clinical staff groups, bank and agency spend, professional registrations, and mandatory training compliance tied to regulatory inspection. Generic HR dashboards don't always cut it, which is partly why we're looking at OAC.
A few questions for the community:
- If you've made the case for OAC, what swung it? Was it the ability to blend HCM data with rostering, finance or clinical activity data, the self-service side, or something else?
- What benefits have you actually seen since going live, and were there any surprises around cost, licensing or the skills needed to get value from it?
- How does OAC fit alongside OTBI and FDI in your roadmap? Is it worth exploring the Oracle analytics roadmap more closely before committing, or are you making decisions based on what's available now?
- What workforce KPIs are you delivering? For us it'd be turnover and retention by staff group, sickness absence, vacancy rates, bank and agency usage, and training compliance, with site-level drill down and a clear national view for leadership.
- Has anyone started using the AI features in OAC with HR data? Would love to hear what's worked and what hasn't, as that could be a big part of the case.
Any examples, tips or lessons learned would be really appreciated. Happy to share where we land too.
Many thanks
Clare
