We are evaluating the use of Oracle Guided Learning (OGL) within Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI).
Today, Oracle Guided Learning is available within Oracle Fusion Applications and EPM as an integrated experience where users can access guidance directly within the application. Within FDI, the currently supported approach requires a browser extension and/or workbook-level integration.
While this provides access to OGL functionality, it introduces additional deployment and support considerations and does not provide a consistent application-wide user experience.
Our requirement is for Oracle Guided Learning to be available natively within the FDI application, similar to the experience provided within Oracle Fusion Applications and EPM.
Specifically:
- The OGL widget should be available immediately when users enter FDI.
- OGL should be available consistently throughout the FDI application.
- Users should not need to manually launch OGL from individual workbooks.
- Users should not need browser-specific extensions to access core OGL capabilities.
- The OGL experience should persist across application navigation and page refreshes where appropriate.
The currently available workbook-level and browser-extension approaches do not fully address this requirement as they depend on endpoint deployment and/or user interaction before OGL becomes available.
We understand discussions have taken place between the OGL and FDI product teams regarding this capability. We have been advised to submit a formal SR/Request to the FDI product team to understand whether native application-level integration is planned and to formally register customer interest for this enhancement.
Business Justification
Oracle Guided Learning is used to support:
- User adoption
- In-application guidance
- Communications and change management
- Training and onboarding
- User support and self-service assistance
Providing native application-level integration within FDI would:
- Deliver a consistent user experience across Oracle products.
- Improve user adoption and engagement.
- Enable contextual guidance from the point users enter the application.
- Reduce dependency on browser extensions and endpoint deployment activities.
- Simplify administration and operational support.
Request
Please can the FDI Product Team:
- Confirm whether native application-level integration of Oracle Guided Learning within FDI is currently planned.
- Provide any available roadmap information, target release details, or strategic direction.
- Confirm whether an Oracle-supported application-wide OGL experience exists today that does not rely on browser extensions or workbook-level configuration.
- Consider this SR/Request as a formal enhancement request if the capability is not currently planned.
