AIDP Billing

Question

Hi All,

I just want to understand, how Oracle Charges the AIDP Units?

For our current AIDP workbench, we have provisioned 1 Default cluster with 1 OCPU + 32GB Memory  and 1 Compute cluster with 1 OCPU+16GB RAM which was stopped over the weekend.

When I looked at the cost per day Oracle has charged USD 8.28$ for above configuration. Ideally it should be around USD 5$ since only our Default cluster was up and running.

Therefore please let us know how this costing works for AIDP workbench.. This would help us to provide correct costing to our customers.

One cluster will be always up and running(24x7) under default workspace. you can't force stop it. If you see your cost is different from above estimated $ amount, It might be coming from some other service.

AIDP uses OCI Monitoring to store logs of the cluster. Hence, your charge may come from that service. You should look at which service is charging.

Please let us know if AIDP Unit is being charged more than what you think.

First let me make it clear: I'm not speaking about AIDP pricing but OCI services pricing.

If you have resources "reserved", created although not running, they usually still have a cost. This apply for example to compute instances. And your cluster is the same thing at the end of the day.

If you are seeing a price that is lower than the price of a running cluster, it's possible that you are paying the price for reserving the resources and keeping the storage.

But again: this is a generic reply on how other OCI services are charged, not specific to AIDP.

Maybe somebody else can also join Phil in providing more details on AIDP costs.
