What version of java have you got? Have you tried checking using java -version on the command line? Have you checked the logs files mentioned in the screenshot? Is Java correctly set up in the PATH and JAVA_HOME environment variables?

  • Just a detail (not directly related to your current error but to the next ones you will probably have): what OS is yours? It smells like Windows 7.

I guess you checked the certification matrix and choose a OS based on that, just to be sure to have all the chances to succeed and not have errors because of an unsupported OS, right?

    Hi Joel,

Thanks for your response.  Yes, I checked java -version, it is 1.8.  PATH and JAVA_HOME are set correctly. Log files are not much helpful. Attached screenshots, please advise. Appreciate your help.

Do you have another version of Java on your server? In your PATH, the 1st directory is C:/Programdata/Oracle/Java/Javapath

Modify your PATH and put c:/java as first entry.

  • Windows 7 isn't certified for OBIEE 12c install, that OS is only certified for the 12c Admintool ...

Should have been the 1st question I asked. If this is a Windows 7 installation which @Gianni Ceresapointed out that it isn't certified to run with OBIEE 12c then you're bound to run into a variety of problems. If you search through the forum you'll see that quite a number of people have run into all sorts of problems with OBIEE on Windows 7.

    Hi Joel,

Thanks for your response.  I am having Windows 7 on my laptop. Hence, I installed Oracle 11g database and want to install OBIEE 11g. I got an error while installing OBIEE 11g. "Error: Oracle TEXT is not installed on the Database.Oracle Text is required to use OIM Catalog feature. Action: Install Oracle Text component on the database."

I am not finding catctx.sql to install Oracle TEXT. Please advise.

    Regards,

    Suresh.

Apart from every thing else: Windows 7 is not and never has been a supported operating system for Oracle BI installations!

There is a reason server operating systems exist and function differently.
