Active Directory Integration Change of What is Displayed

Hi,
the client has configured the OBIEE security to consume their Active Directory.
The username currently displayed is a user id that is meaningful to the end user, but meaningless to everyone else '1234'
Is it possible to change the AD config to switch to displaying something more meaningful without causing issues with reports that end users have already written.
i.e. This is mainly for the benefit of sysadmin who see a report running as '1234' which tells them nothing....
In other words, provided the GUID stays the same does it make any difference if the 'User Name Attribute' changes?
My OBIEE version is 12.2.1.0.0
thanks in anticipation for your input,
Robert.

Reading your response as 'No, it makes no difference if the user name attribute changes', if I understand you incorrectly kindly correct me.
And thanks as ever,
Robert.

That's precisely what I meant but was on phone and too lazy to type more characters
