OBIEE 12c - Enterprise Manager Application Role - Adding member Name and Display name mismatch?

Question

This is a bit out there, and I tried to search but couldnt find anything.

Before creating a service ticket I was hoping to see if anyone else has seen this issue.

I just installed OBIEE 12c and went into

Enterprise Manager -> Application Roles -> Edit

Here I click on [Add]

I select the user [rosem] with display name Michael A Rose

I click OK and it brings me back to the application role main screen.

I go back into the exact same group and noticed that their display name has now changed to "Rose Mohi"

The display name is correct, but some how it looks like the display name is not being loaded correctly.

Has anyone ever seen this?

Hi,

what happens when you add the username(principal) directly instead of searching from the list. Also please check what are you getting in the console.

i believe you might have hit some bug like this BUG:23557095 - OBIEE 12C PRINCIPAL AND DISPLAY NAME SHOWS SAME VALUE WHEN ADD NEW USER TO ROLE

i would reach out to Oracle for a possible explanation. please keep us updated if you get a fix

we are also facing similar issue, but our version is Oracle Business Intelligence 12.2.1.2.0

Hi,

This happened to me on OBIEE 12.2.1.0.0. It just gets the display name wrong but still, rosem belongs to EDW_ORG_FAC_HH_ANALYSTS role when they log in. It's kind of benign bug. I am currently using 12.2.1.1.0 and this issue is resolved in the version.

You can try contacting Oracle support they might provide you the bug info
