OBIEE 12c SampleAppLite after installation
Hi,
We installed our environments using the clean slate option. Is it possible to get the SampleAppLite installed so new users can play around with the subject area? Would I need to go through the OBIEE installation process again? I know there's the virtualbox option, but the users machine doesn't have the power.

Hi,
Not sure what "virtualbox" option you are talking about, do you mean "SampleAppLite" or OBIEE Sample App (OBIEE Samples ) ?
SampleAppLite is a small subject area with few dimensions and it is based on XML files as source. You can deploy that one easily as it's a BAR available in your OBIEE 12c install.
Sample App on the other hand it's not available in another form than the virtualbox VMs because it comes with tons of sources you would not have (not just based on a bunch of database tables).

Hi Gianni,
Thanks, I was referring to SampleAppLite. We didn't install the SampleAppLite during the initial OBIEE installation. Is the BAR file still available even though we didn't install it? If we deploy it, what would it replace? Just the RPD? Any risks of it messing up our existing environment?

The BAR is definitely there (search for all the files being *.bar in the OBIEE install path and you will find it).
Like any BAR it will definitely replace things when you import it, depending on the parameter you use with the command it will replace everything (RPD + catalog + security) or just pieces.
So up to you to decide what you want to replace or not.
