Splitting existing physical layer db into two

Question

I have a database that is used for two different areas of the company. Originally in the RPD, it was set up as one physical layer database, one BMM and one subject area. There are now two developers working within the one area and we need it split out so they are not stepping on each others toes. I created a new database in the physical layer and set up the connection pool to the same underlying datamart with the same login/password. It allows me to pull in the metadata with no issues. The separate BMM and subject area have been set up, but when I try to view any of the tables in OBIEE, I am getting a 'log in failed for user' message. Is having two databases with the same data source something that can't be done?

This is not the way to do Multi-User Development ... you can do branch development with OBIEE and everything works - no stepping on toes.  Having separate physical, logical and presentation layers for each developer is a nightmare and you lose the benefits of OBIEE.

Here is the setup in the RPD..the new database is Actuarial_New_Money. The existing that is being split is Seek_ActuarialDM_NEW. From the server, I can connect to the datasource and import metadata from both connection pools.However, in the new Actuarial_New_Money, I can't update row count or view data, it says connection failed.

The existing subject area displays data in OBIEE Answers, the new one gives me this error:

As long as you kept a different name for your connection pool and database there should not be any issues. Provide a screenshot of error message your are getting.
