Hi all,

Two part question.

1. What is the best way of starting OBIEE 12c so that if the server is restarted, the processes are started up in order. We used to be able to do this with windows services in 11g but from what I've read, we should be using task scheduler instead? I have also read that there is a windows service created upon installation which can be re-created using "installNodeMgrSvc.cmd" however I'm getting a number of errors using this method.

2. (and this may relate to 1) Is it possible to start OBIEE with a different user to the user who installed the application? We are having issues because the user that installed the application can be logged off. When this happens, the app is shut down. We would prefer to start the app using the NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM user however when doing so, only the admin and bi servers start. The logs are filled with "username and password is incorrect" errors.

ad 1.) I always use the scripts and just put them in the admin console as "at startup" etc. Never use the service approach at all

ad 2.) Yes but this being Windows I always start them with an admin account which is pretty much a clone of the install user. Also when you add the scripts to the system startup you can specify sth like "keep process running" - or the likes; don't have it in front of me.
