Change formatting for Hidden Column in Pivot Table
Answers

That sounds horrible. On so many levels...
Could you get the same effect by union (all) the two data sets (with their independent filters) and pivoting the results?

Dimitri,
I'm working in 11.1.1.9.5, but I've dealt with similar requirements. In my version, the one-column pivot you see here:
Looks like this on the dashboard without any special formatting:Have you tried it on a dashboard?

Here's another way (If you must). Works in Tables and Pivots.

Dear Dimitris,
This is very strange as if you are hiding a column, it should be hidden entirely.
I'm not sure about the version of OBIEE that you are using.
I tried to replicate your scenario, but unable to.
As you can see from the screenshot above, the columns are hidden and I am not getting any additional spacing in the displayed column.
This is OBIEE 12C, but the same should work in lower versions as well.

Yes I am using 12c version, it is fine with normal tables but I keep getting this in pivot tables.
I assume this is not happening in 11g, as your examples are from that version.

Hi,
I didn't read the full thread but ... aren't you try to cheat and complaining your cheat doesn't work?
Do you actually have something else (at least another column) visible there where you have the grey in the "Rows" part of the pivot? Because from your screenshot it looks like you use a pivot but want it to act as a table with only "Columns" attributes visible and hiding what is into "Rows".
So is that the case and you try to turn a pivot into a table visually?

Dear Dimitis,
This is OBIEE 12.2.1.3 version...
I'm not sure why you are getting the situation, but by default, if I hide some column, it remains hidden...similar views with
One probable cause for this problem can be below:
You have removed the column heading entirely and decreased the width of the column (instead of hiding it). In such cases, you will be able to see similar views.

Yes that's exactly what I am doing.
Not complaining at all though, just asking if this cheat is possible

No I totally clicked the hidden option for the attribute when editing the pivot table

Did you excluded the "Measure Labels" from the list?
Please see below:
I believe this might be the reason for getting extra "grey-area"...
