Thanks for the help Christian!
I have gathered a few more documents related to installing the map view. But my requirement is that I want to have the world map whereas in each and every document I am getting examples of integrating United States map with the OBIEE.
Can you shed some light on this?

Mapping depends on your map material and on the technology you use. If you use the free google api...ok all of the world to a certain degree of detail but all your data passes through google's ommnommnommnomm analytics.
Normally you *buy* map material in order to have the right to use it in-house. Yes it costs. Free mapping always means that your data goes somewhere else or that the mapping tech you use is far less detailed or allows less functionality.

Hi,
These are some sources for World Maps.
Please check out the following sites
Natural Earth
http://www.naturalearthdata.com/
GeoCommons
DIVA-GIS
National Atlas
http://www.nationalatlas.gov/atlasftp.html
GISDataDepot
MapCruzin
http://www.mapcruzin.com/download-free-arcgis-shapefiles.htm
--- MapViewer is pre-installed/deployed with OBIEE you do not need mapviewer_11.1.1.7.3_qs, that is a standalone install.
Open Browser
http://<yourserver>:<port>/mapviewer
that should launch MapViewer Administration. there you need to configure the connection to your database schema. You can use MapBuilder Just use this link - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/mapviewer/downloads/index.html Make a connection to your Oracle Database and then import the shapefile into your database. Once it is imported into database you can make a map theme that you can then use as a map layer in OBIEE
