No results messeage

Hi I am using OBIEE 12.2.1.2.0
When my analysisi results in no data i get the following message ''The layout of this view combined with the data, selections, drills or prompt values resulted in no data.''
However i want to put custom message instead of this one, i go to analysis and i do this
but it still gives me the same message.
I realized that it ignores my custom message when i tick this option : Include columns with only Null values
When this is unticked it works fine, but i need that option.
Is there a workaround for this, or maybe something that i am not aware of??
Thx, Matija

The 2 options are mutually exclusive. Either you display your custom message and don't display columns only with NULLs or you don't display your custom message and display columns only with NULLs.
You simply can't do both.

@Joel Acha If i tick this option when i have analysis it look like this
Store1 Store 2 Store 3
Shampoo 1 3
when it is unticked it looks like this
Store1 Store 3
Shampoo 1 3
So the requirement is that analysis must show all stores regardles of units sold
But when no results ocuurs ( which means that there are not any units sold for any store) i should have my custom message
Why are this two options mutually exclusive, they should not be...

Especcialy considered the fact that it showes me the no results message, but not the one I want.

The "No Results" message and "the layout of this view" are two completely different things!
The first one means that the data set coming back from the OBIS is empty. I.e.: There *IS* no data.
The second one means that you did some post-data-grabbing operation in the display and visualization of the data so that none is left - the data stream itself contains data though.
So maybe take a step back to thing of what you're trying to do and bear this distinction in mind.

First of all thank you for all the effort you do,and not just about this issue.
You clarified me the distinction between no results and "the layout of this view", so if you read my second post in this topic you can see what is the only difference.
When ''Include columns with only Null values'' is unticked it gives me no results messeage, but when it is ticked it gives me ''layout of this view... ''
So, according to you only post grabbing operation is including the columns that have no values, so I am now a bit confused because there is no restriction after grabbing, and it is clear that dataset indeed comes back as empty from the OBIS otherwise it would not show me the no results message when the option is unticked.

Hi mmajdana
Christian, Rob,Srini & Joel are experts in providing solutions for any issue (If you are able to explain your issue and desired output to show it to users).
The current situation in your OBIEE:
Store1 Store 2 Store 3
Shampoo 1 3
Your expectation in OBIEE:
Store1 Store 2 Store 3
Shampoo 1 Sorry, No values for Store 2 (custom Message) 3
Is my understanding is correct ?

You can try to change it in viewmessages.xml ?
Thanks,
