In 12C if I download a rpd copy using datamodel.cmd or take a copy as from online rpd using BI Administration tool is it the same?

One more clarification. So after I make the changes to the copy taken from the online rpd from the admin tool. I can only upload it using datamodel.cmd or is there any other option?

@Karthi_obiee : you maybe want to define how you plan to do thing to adopt the better approach.
You hardly work on a RPD fully offline before to deploy it as an offline RPD is quite useless, it will not allow you to see if things works before to deploy it. So you generally have a sandbox on which you are alone and work online directly, and when you are happy you then deploy the RPD to another environment.

Anyone has any idea why the OAC documentation on custom viz is not available now? I was able to access till last week - https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/paas/analytics-cloud/acsdv/build-package-extension.html. Does this mean OAC doesnt support custom viz or custom workbook extensions?
