Patch Merge Question (11g)

Hi All,
Quick question on a patch merge. There is a dialogue box that pops up, after hitting "compare" - 'Do you want to mark differences in the repository immediately':
I haven't been able to find too much about this (what it is, what is does, etc.). Does anyone know what is best to select for this? Or, the difference between Yes & No ...
Thanks in advance

Hi Charles,
I just have really vague memories about this, but I would say it "visually" mark things in the Admin tool to highlight objects modified or created by your action.
It's just a visual thing and I guess you can turn it off when done in the "File" menu ("Turn off compare mode").

Ok, thanks Gianni. I see what you mean. That makes sense, especially if you want/need to find something in the RPD. So, I guess it really doesn't matter, decision-wise, since it won't actually change anything.
Probably not really worth it for us, because we are using Bi Apps (and, I need to use the original RPD, which we have trimmed quite a bit ); there'd be too many things to even try to inspect visually!
But, the explanation is helpful. I'll check it out to see how it works, no that I know what is is trying to do.
Regards,
Charles

Hi Charles,
@Gianni Ceresa is correct as ever, it is purely there so if you want a heads up on what the differences are between what you had and what you will have then you have a means to see all of the changes.
Might be worth doing with OBIA even if it is a size, then you can use it as a broadbrush on what you need to test and what you don't...

Thanks for confirming Robert. Should be useful. Plus, now we know what it does!
