Hi! Does anyone know if there is any way to recover deleted folders from obie? this in particular is installed on linux, we can not locate some folders we do not know if they were deleted, is there any way to check that in the log? or even recover them? thanks greetings

  • Sure, that's what backups are for: take your backup and restore the missing pieces.

But I suspect you don't have backups or you wouldn't be asking ...

What files are you talking about? Analysis/dashboards in the catalog? You can still check if they aren't just "invisible" because of wrong permissions by checking if the files are really not there anymore on the disk.

Out of the box there isn't a log of deleted things, that's something you would have to enable by defining advanced OBIPS logging.

+1 to Gianni. That's what's part of managing any software. Taking care that things run, are backed up and capable of being restored.

in addition to @Gianni Ceresa & @Christian Berg, your UNIX guys should be able to trace who did what and when.

  • Assuming he talks about folders of the OBIEE app in the file system and not content in the OBIEE catalog (there the unix guys will just ask him where the backups are ).

@3744064: if it's content in the OBIEE catalog you also maybe want to do a full search in the catalog itself for the missing things. It could be very easy to do a drag&drop by mistake and whole branches of the catalog disappear inside another folder...
