Credentials supplied in SOAP Message header failed authentication

We use an LDAP authentication provider, and recently had to reset the password for security compliance reasons. We also had to change the USER BASE DN setting. We made the appropriate change in the security providers config.
Since then, we have been getting this error frequently:
oracle.webservices.provider.ProviderException: javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException: BI Security Service Access Denied - credentials supplied in SOAP Message header failed authentication
However, users are able to authenticate and login through LDAP.
Another issue is users have lost their favorites and saved views, and no longer have the ability to create favorites without getting an permission denied error.
In the log I see errors:
The GUID for user *** has changed. This could result in catalog access issues - Please update GUIDs and try again

+1 to Joel. first of all refresh your GUIDs and bounce the OBIPS.
Also, 11.1.1.7 in any form is out of error correction support since December 2018:

If you want to continue, you should upgrade to 12.2.1.4.
