As far as I know OBIA 7.9.6.4 has no direction. It will not go anywhere else. New OBIA is focused on ODI (which make sense: supporting a 3rd party ETL vs an internal one, it's clear the direction).
I don't work for Oracle, so this just my own personal opinion
I imagine it isn't going to go anywhere and you will be able to move the OBIEE part up to the version you prefer as OBIEE has little dependencies with anything else in OBIA: it has it's own RPD and catalog and simply point to a database. So if you update the OBIEE part up to 12c, you will soon be able to jump on OAS when available and keep the analytical / end-users front end up to date.
But I don't expect to see any change in the back end: ETL and DB model etc.

Dear Giaani,
Thanks for your reply,
Recently oracle has released certifications with the windows serer 2016, Sql server 2016 , Informatica 10.2 hf1, & DAC 11g for OBIEE 12C. Confusing about road map going forward.
Thanks

I see it as 2 different things: certifications vs product development.
Certifying the "old" product with new versions of either OS or single components is one thing. It's the only possible way for the product to not have to be uninstalled (as you would have to run it on a server with a old OS which run out of support itself etc.).
But I don't expect the product itself to receive new functionalities or changes. They just "certify" you can keep it alive as it is in a way.

The Statement of Direction is now very clear. You can see it in the support note.
OBIA on premise 10.3 release will be supported until at least 2030
OBIA 10.2 release will be supported til June 2021
OBIA 7.9..3 will go out of extended support as per the current documentation
I do not work for Oracle
