RCU for OBIEE 11.1.1.9

Question

Hello,

Iam going to install OBIEE 11.1.1.9 on Solaris SPARC 64-bit machine. But when I checked for RCU 11.1.1.9, it is only available for Windows 64-bit, Linux 32 and Linux 64-bit Platforms. How do I proceed ??

Please suggest a solution/workaround for this as soon as possible.

You run it from a Windows or Linux machine (or VM) able to connect to the DB where you want to create the RCU schemas.

RCU doesn't require any link with something installed locally on the host running it, it just create things in the DB, so you can run it from where you want as long as you can reach the DB server (so no firewall in between).

I assume you work for Oracle by your user name yet you are asking for a solution as soon as possible on a public forum

If you read the Oracle documentation - Oracle® Fusion Middleware System Requirements and Specifications

10.1.1 RCU Supported Platforms

RCU is available on any 32-bit x86 Linux and 32-bit Microsoft Windows operating system used with Oracle Fusion Middleware. You can run RCU from these machines to connect to any certified local or remote Oracle, IBM DB2, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server database in order to create the schemas required by Fusion Middleware components. The database can be running on any operating system platform that is supported by that particular database.

Beginning with 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.4.0) and later, RCU can also be run on any 64-bit x86 Linux and 64-bit Microsoft Windows operating system used with Oracle Fusion Middleware. On 64-bit Linux operating systems, you must run the following command before starting RCU:

set linux32 bash
