Hello All,
Please help with comparative analysis for DVD Vs Visual Analyzer Vs OACS for operational reporting?
Pros and Cons with respect to cloud environment will be helpful.
Thanks,
Rajneesh
Hi,
Would be easier by using the proper names of tools. If DVD there is only one (assuming latest version), there isn't a real product named "Visual Analyzer" and also OACS isn't a name anymore. I guess you mean OAC?
You maybe want to read your (Oracle) own releases: OAS is a thing now, reducing the gap between on-premises and cloud.
You can't really compare a desktop tool with a server solution, so not sure what DVD does in your list.
This is worth reading: https://docs.oracle.com/en/middleware/bi/analytics-server/whats-different-oas/index.html
Hi Gianni,
DVD means Data Visualization Desktop. Yes, OACS and OAC are same and mean Oracle Analytics Cloud.
You mean DVD that's actually OAD now? ;-)
https://docs.oracle.com/en/middleware/bi/analytics-desktop/index.html
Probably the worst moment for you to ask this question as the product names are being revamped and aligned across the product portfolio.
Hi Christian,
Yes you are correct, DVD is OAD now.
Any comparative analysis for DVD/OAD Vs OACS Vs OBIEE's Data Visualization with pros and cons, which product is having upper hand with respect to data security standards on cloud and why? what all additional features offered by one compared to other two? which is recommended on cloud infrastructure and why will be helpful?
How much Cores/RAM is required by each software and which promise better performance for Operational reporting where data volume is comparatively low with respect to data warehouse and data is in highly normalized form than like data warehouse where it is highly de-normalized.
I understand answers to my above queries depend on client requirement and infra, however I am interested to discuss in general/ normal trends perspective.
You maybe want to ask internally for this. Analytics has a group of sales/PMs who must have all that written and ready already as they spend their days repeating those things to prospects and customers.
Have you read through the link Gianni posted?
Hi Team, We would like to raise an enhancement request for the SSO/SAML configuration guidance for OAS 2026. We have already raised multiple SRs regarding OAS 2026 SSO configuration. We are planning to archive the Contract and Lease data currently sourced from the External Source as Contract and Lease accounting functions are being migrated to Oracle's CLM and Lease Accounting modules. At this stage, only active and partially closed records are being converted into Oracle and the remaining historical…
The difference column is a calculation, and I would like to average that row.
We are trying to convert our OAS reports to OAC and one of the parameters in the where clause of the report is what I am trying to make in OAC. I created a calculation as follows and I am trying to put it into a filter . The code validates EVALUATE('GREATEST ( TRUNC ( NVL (%1, TO_DATE (''1/1/2013'', ''mm/dd/yyyy'') ) ),…
Hi , I am calling one parameter in another parameter and it is not working. 1st parameter is showing values, while calling the 1st parameter in second it is not showing any values. Regards, Sree Hari M
