Hello,

We have to lower the version of rpd and webcat from obiee 12.2.1.3.0 to 12.2.1.0.0 as we came to know the version difference while we are migrating from test to production..  ..now we do not have the time to upgrade obiee to the above version. In 11g we had option to lower using nqoldverrpd..but couldn't find the rpd version number in 12c nor not sure if it will work..

First of all thank you very much for your response.

    Repository

version is not displayed in the "about oracle bi admin" while opened offline..but tried to open the rpd in old version it throwed error like 356 cannot be opened by 354. So hope it is the version of rpd.

Same kind of error while archive and unarchived the catalog folder. Is there any tool for catalog also.. Or pasting the folder from physical directory will work

That screenshot is from an RPD opened in Admin Tool in offline mode. Yes there is the version.

And "hoping" for the right version isn't very scientific or professional an approach. A bit like hoping that a car is being fuelled with the correct fuel. This may damage your engine. Using car analogies seems to work better than using actual technical references like "using the wrong version may cause bugs".

With the catalog you're pretty much on your own as there is no way of downgrading it.

All these things are the reason why not caring about versions is the worst sin of IT and quite negligent

Copying catalog files worked between environments worked

So why do you say it doesn't work

The option to migrate through archive/unarchive from catalog in obiee analytics not working..but copying the folder from server to server is working

Just keep in mind that's not a supported way of doing things. So you better be careful on what you copy around. And if you destroy your system because of a wrong copy .... you better have a backup as nobody will be able to help (and Oracle will tell you that you just had to follow supported methods).

Like showing enough involvement and interest in an implementation to know what version is running x-D
