Hello Experts,

Does OAS-5.5.0 contains Visual Analyzer component?

Why I am asking this question because I tried to access below URLs in one server and could not access:

http://meuqa:9502/va/project.jsp?pageid=visualAnalyzer

http://meuqa:9502/va/

However below URL was working fine in same environment:

http://meuqa:9502/analytics/

In my local system where I have OBIEE 12.2.1.4.0, I could access below URLs without any issue:

http://localhost:9502/va/project.jsp?pageid=visualAnalyzer

http://localhost:9502/va/

I guess we can not see visual analyzer in Application Deployed (@EM) as we can see BI Publisher application?

If yes then why? Is it not an seprate application like Analytics and Visual Analyzer?

Kindly help.

Thanks

The best way to look at it is as Visual Analyser being the predecessor of Data Visualisation.
The Data Visualisation URL is normally in the form of server:port/dv/ui

    Hi Joel,

    Thanks for your help !!!

Yes, I am able to access below URLs in OAS -5.5.0

    http://meuqa:9502/dv/ui/home.jsp?pageid=home

    http://meuqa:9502/dv/?pageid=home

So can I conclude that we will find VA till OBIEE12c and from OAS-5.5.0 onwards it is available in form of DV?

You keep saying "12c" which is just about as imprecise as you can get.

The name change from VA to DV happened during the lifetime of "12c" which means that: No, it was not called VA in 12c. It was called VA in the beginning but definitely not in 12.2.1.3 or 12.2.1.4 where it was already DV (Data Visualization).

Precision is important. This is technology, this is IT, not homeopathic "alternative medicine".

    Hi Chris,

I validates at OBIEE with below version:

    pastedImage_0.png

I am able to access VA with below URL for 12.2.1.3.0:

    http://localhost:9502/va/project.jsp?pageid=visualAnalyzer

    pastedImage_3.png

However not able to access DV for 12.2.1.3.0 (so it seems that DV was not available at least till 12.2.1.3.0 )

    http://localhost:9502/dv/?pageid=homepastedImage_0.png

No If I go to OAS 5.5.0:

I can access DV for OAS 5.5.0:

    pastedImage_2.png

However could not access VA for OAS- 5.5.0

VA and DV are th same thing just with a different name. Like OBIEE and OAS.

DV is the new name for VA just like OAS is the new name for OBIEE.

Or like Prince became Symbol and then TAFCAP.

Just one last thing on this topic:

I guess we can not see visual analyzer in Application Deployed (@EM) as we can see BI Publisher application?

If yes then why? Is it not an separate application like Analytics and Visual Analyzer?

Are you sharing the snip from application deployments at EM?

I went there and could not see modules and like you depicted

Deployments in WLS console. Not EM.
