Freeze column headers in dashboard tables
Organization Name
HSBC Plc
Description
We would like the option in Oracle Analytics dashboards to freeze table column headers so that the column headers are always visible even when the users page down.
Use Case and Business Need
Without this feature, users have to continuously scroll up and down to see what the column headers are or, even worse, they have to download to excel

Hello Antony, are you specifically talking about self service analysis (DV), or Answers. This functionality already exists in Answers for tables and Pivot Tables if you click on view properties. See image attached. is it not what you are describing here ?

Hi Philippe, thanks for the reply - for our customer we are talking about Answers here. I just checked and can confirm the option you have highlighted does freeze the column headers, but I then consulted our developers and they said they always need to use the Content Paging option because it limits the initial set of rows on the page and actually gives a better look & feel (for example: the table width sizing is more dynamic and better with handling lots of columns)
So I guess what we need is the column header freeze option to be available with Content Paging when the customer chooses to display all rows. I hope that helps!

I agree with Antony, current functionality just fixes the size of table and it looks like the headers are frozen but most of the clients prefer content paging over fix size. Oracle should provide functionality similar to Excel which not only freeze first row but first column too.

Also agree with Anthony. It is currently a development configuration option for all consumers of a specific analysis. It would be very welcome to have it be a user level option, depending on how much data they are reviewing. Our users just execute OTBI/OAC content, don't build themselves.

Marcela - would you be able to post the development configuration option?

Just another one agreeing that this functionality is unsatisfactory. Low quality. I tried it and had to go back to the other mode.
