we have OBIEE 12c version 12.2.1.2.0 in our linux server ., we wanted to have OBIEE 12c sample app V607., how to get it done., do we need to install separately or can we have SA v607 with 12.2.1.2.0

Yes, as long as your server has sufficient resources to manage both instances. The Sample App is a self contained VM so it will not install anything "directly" on your server just within the VM.
you mean to say that Sample app V607 to be installed as a separate instance ? , my question was can't we have v607 with 12.2.1.2.0 as a patch ?
Your question wasn't clear. Do you want to upgrade OBIEE in the SampleApp v607 VM? Is that what you mean? If that is what you mean then just download the software and perform the inplace upgrade.
Sampleapp is a self contained VM, you can't just "patch" a standard obiee installation with sample app content.
What you can do however is extracting the BAR file containing RPD, catalog and security from Sampleapp and then migrate it to your instance (Welcome to OBIEE12c - using BI Application Archive (BAR) files - Red Stack Tech
This however will not cover config details or database data, so you'll have to migrate them manually yourself
Ok once more:
SampleApp is a "stand alone" VM and not something you "import into your server".
As Francesco said you can do a BAR export and import but the data sources and all othee config artefacts will always remain on the SA VM itself.
What's your end-game? If it is to have a 'quick install' for a server - this isn't the way to go; that VM is standalone and software configured for it's own environment.
If you just need the content (samples) set up the VM and then export - RPD, Webcat and Data ... but that just begs the whole thing of why even do that ... just run the sample VM and refer to it on occasion when you need a solution.

Yes have referred already., its required Oracle Virtual Box installation before installing Sample app., so can we install Oracle virtual box in same Linux server ., then from Virtual Box can we install sample app.
That is exactly what everyone has been saying. SampleApp is self contained, you install the virtual machine and then you import the SampleApp OBIEE files into it.
