hi expert ,

I am getting this error every time I run reports or dash board in OBIEE 11g

State: 08004. Code: 10092. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: 08004] [nQSError: 10092] The Oracle BI Server is not currently running. Cannot connect to server machine (08004)

what could possibly cause this problem please if anyone can help

For a start, check if your OBIEE services are up.

Ok, so was the environment working fine before and the error started happening recently ? If so was there any changes made to the env? Did you check the server logs for additional error messages (nqserver, sawlog). Also post the exact version of your 11g OBIEE.

I have configured Teradata in my environment and I think that is causing the problem. I try to set the environment variable in user.sh but now it causing

Error: [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS.
[nQSError: 43119] Query Failed: [nQSError: 16001] ODBC error state: IM002 code:
0 message: [DataDirect][ODBC lib] Data source name not found and no default
driver specified. (HY000)

so could it be that I set the environment variable wrong

I am putting that here as well and just for reference I have put these details in user.sh and my version of OBIEE is 11.1.1.7.0

ODBCINI=/opt/teradata/client/ODBC_64/odbc.ini
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/teradata/client/ODBC_64/lib/tdata.so:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
export ODBCINI LD_LIBRARY_PATH

I suggest you check your OBIEE config for Teradata data source. See document below.
