Ha. Ha. Ha. You're so funny :-P

Good point on the settings. Generally the VMs come configured in a very nice way so you can really play around with "your" settings - i.e. OBI - and not have to care about OS settings.

By the way the /dev/urandom switch would be a blog post for easy/cheap points Unless you don't want to so I'll do it

    Hi Christian,

I have only changed JVM values of 'AdminServerStartupGroup' and 'BISUITE-MAN-SVR' in setStartupEnv.sh script as per document but since it did not help ,i reverted it back.

    Hi Gianni,

Correct me if i am wrong but what i meant was in 11g, we can have multiple instances but in 12c,you have domains or in other words, they've removed the concept of the INSTANCE in 12c, moving most of that to the DOMAIN entity (so in my case i configured standered enterprise 12c install with two domains).

    Also ,

I am trying to understand why i don't have enough resources even though i am also having the setup running on a VM with 20gb of ram which shouldn't be a problem hosting the application without utilizing full memory.

  • Do you need 2 OBIEE ? So 2 RPD and 2 catalogs running in parallel?

    Hi Gianni,

I have configured two bi foundation domains under single 'Oracle_Home'.

So by two domains i mean 1) smis 2).clubitc

They have separate RPD and catalogs.

Below is the directory structure looks like:

I hope i am clear this time.

  • Yep, much more clear

It's not really a common setup to have 2 domains (not that it can't be done, just that >95% of the setups are a single domain).

So even more complex to estimate what the impact on memory usage is supposed to be ...
